How do I talk with my family?
Everyone opens the app, enters the same room code and their own name, and joins. Hold the big button to talk; release it to listen.
I can't hear the other person.
Check that both devices are in the same room, the volume is up, and the app has microphone permission (Settings → Walkie Talkie → Microphone). If you're on different networks, give the connection a few seconds to set up.
Do I need to keep the app open?
No. When someone tries to reach you, the app is woken in the background and shows an incoming call.
How do I restore my subscription on a new device?
Sign in with the same Apple ID, open the app, and tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone or iPad go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, choose Buddy Duo Walkie-Talkie, and tap Cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Are my conversations recorded?
No. Voice goes directly between devices and is never stored. See our privacy policy.
Browser games
Where is my game progress saved?
In your own browser, on your own device. There's no account, so progress doesn't follow you to another browser or device, and clearing your browser data (or using private browsing) erases it. Playing on itch.io and on our own site counts as two different places.
Can I move my Ember Abyss character to another computer?
Yes. On the title screen, click the download icon next to your character to export a save file, then use Import Save on the other computer or browser.
A game won't load or looks broken.
Use an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari and reload the page. Some games are best on a computer: Ember Abyss needs a mouse and keyboard. If it still fails, email us the game, your browser and device.
Are the games really free?
Yes, with no ads and nothing to buy. If you'd like to support us, you can leave an optional tip on the game's itch.io page.
